Your body has been fasting all night and needs those nutrients in the morning to replenish what is lost at night. The blood sugar your body needs to make your muscles and brain work their best is usually low in the morning, breakfast solves this problem. Also breakfast jump starts your metabolism, which helps you burn calories throughout the day. Breakfast helps you focus at work and school and gives you energy to get things done!
How can you get in extra minutes of sleep while still ensuring your body gets the jump start it needs to be productive all day? It’s simple, plan ahead. Find recipes for quick meals you can grab and go! Below I have listed the benefits of eating in the morning and also some ideas for a great healthy breakfast.
Benefits of Eating Breakfast in the Morning:
There have been many studies done on the benefits of eating a well balanced breakfast every morning. For kids, teens, and adults, breakfast helps better your memory and concentration. Studies have shown that kids who eat a balanced breakfast perform better on tests and generally have higher scores than those who don’t eat breakfast. Along with better concentration, breakfast helps kids with problem solving skills, hand-eye coordination, keeps them for getting tired and restless, and also from getting cranky.
Breakfast has many positive effects on the body. Those who eat breakfast regularly have lower levels of “bad” LDL cholesterol. Also, you have a lower chance of getting diabetes, heart disease, and being overweight. By eating breakfast, this gives you a chance to get in healthy nutrients and vitamins, which in turn gives you more strength and endurance while performing physical activities. By getting in a healthy breakfast, it keeps you from overeating junk food later in the day.
Choosing the correct meal in the morning plays a big part in your overall health. It is important to choose a mix of foods that have carbohydrates, proteins, healthy fats, and fiber. Carbohydrates will give you the energy you need right away, while protein will give you energy later on. Fiber will keep you feeling full throughout the day.
